Black Ministers Convention / Consultation
BMC is a formation within the MCSA, started as a movement named Black Ministers Convention / Consultation in 1975.
Influenced by Black Consciousness
In its inception BMC was highly influenced by Black Consciousness and African / Black theology.
Protest against White superiority in the MCSA
The BMC started as Black Ministers protest against White superiority in the MCSA motivated by quest for justice.
In 1976 BMC was open to laity out of a need for support
In 1976 it was then open to laity out of a need for support and the need for the voice of the Lay leaders, without any specific mention and or accommodation of women Lay leaders.
